Because, until we are able to think like GOD, we will not be able to behave ourselves in a manner that is pleasing to GOD. The problem is that thinking like GOD does not come naturally. In order to "Think Like GOD", we must first gain an understanding as to "How GOD Thinks". This comes through prayerfully studying and meditating over the Scriptures. However, as we study the Scriptures we are often faced with difficult or enigmatic passages where we are left wandering, "GOD, what were You thinking?". This is a question that we must often ask and seek to answer. As we gain a greater understanding as to "what GOD was thinking", as HE inspired the Scriptures, we gain a greater understanding as to "how GOD thinks".
