The Question that Builds Trust
Manage episode 312659504 series 2923058
What do you know? When was the last time you asked that question? A question this powerful should be asked on the regular. It gives agency by showing that you value someone's knowledge and want to hear from them. Not their opinion, but what they know.
- The number one reason people change jobs or quit being engaged is because they feel they are missing a supportive and open communication channel. You know the channel is working when you can comfortably discuss hard topics that require vulnerability.
- We all want an advocate- show others that their contributions are visible and skills are important by acknowledging them.
- Once you have good communication, you can establish psychological safety and offer growth opportunities.
- Asking someone what they know works like magic to strengthen trust, empathy and social connection.
