Eric Baker with Keller Williams Realty and Ellen Hill with Atlanta Fine Homes joins the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to chat about MUST Ministries, how they got started as volunteers as well as the organization’s growth. Baker and Hill join host Carol Morgan on the Around Atlanta segment. Born and raised in Atlanta, Baker has been an active player in the real estate industry for over 10 years, partnering with clients from Canton to Intown metro neighborhoods and everything in between. From the metro area as well, Hill grew up in Marietta and has been a Realtor for nearly a decade. Hill has been named one of the top three agents in the Cobb Realtors group numerous times over the last several years. Celebrating 50 years in the Atlanta area, the core focus of MUST Ministries is homeless rehabilitation, spotlighting housing efforts, food insecurity and other efforts to get individuals back on their feet. The workforce development office gives clients the resources necessary for successful job placement, including resume workshops, application tips and more. The office also helps reduce preventative job entry barriers by fulfilling essential qualifications such as meeting uniform regulations and securing job certifications. Baker said, “Anything and everything that spans out from being in a homeless situation or being any kind of food insecure [or] housing insecure is pretty much what we are there for.” The expansive Must Ministries housing network offers emergency shelter in their newly opened homeless shelter as well as semi-supportive housing, including subsidized and permanent housing as individuals move towards stability. Other incredible efforts include the mobile food pantry, Summer Lunch Program, and a thrift store that offers clients interview-appropriate clothing for job placement. Growing up in the metro Atlanta area, Hill often heard of the fantastic efforts courtesy of the organization and distantly participated in food drives. When the pandemic began, Hill came across a social post detailing how Must Ministries was mobilizing efforts to feed less fortunate students who cannot afford school lunches. Hill said, “Here I am sitting [and] working with people who have great problems and there are so many across the street and right around me who are so much less fortunate.” Hill quickly sent a message to someone associated with the organization and became involved. Her love for Must Ministries continued to grow exponentially, leading to her position on the Board of Directors alongside Baker.
