Review: Markers of a Damaged View of Self I am a chronic evaluator and comparer of people/relationships (cf., pride, bitterness, grudge-holding, and insecurity, etc). I seek out validation to maintain or improve my self-concept or group status. I pull people near and push people away based on how they affect my self-concept. I instinctively use people. I don’t have healthy long-term relationships. My interactions are hindered by the fear of rejection (default of insecure attachment). My worth actually changes with my clothing choices or things I own. I experience irrational embarrassment or shame, cf., imposter syndrome. I feel like imaginary cameras are on me all the time. My motives are sometimes driven by self-sabotaging and I don’t know why. My perspective of self is dominated by the outside me and not the inside me. I tend to create God in my own image because I am afraid of God and don’t like how He makes me feel.
