Ken W. Good joins Front Porch Politics as a special guest. Ken is the author of Good’s on Bail and will give statistics on bail reform pertaining to COVID-19. Ken is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Professional Bondsmen of Texas. So enjoy Podcast 173 where we will be joined by author and speaker Ken W. Good who will discuss COVID-19 release of inmates and more.

Podcast 173 Introduction

Ken Good gives insight in to even taking COVID-19’s health risks into account. Why is the wholesale release of inmates from jail is not necessarily a good idea. Ken also discussed why public safety is a legitimate concern when considering the release of persons charged with a crime.

Topics also discussed will be how statistically those who are release have a high rate of failure-to-appear. This creates a higher demand on the courts, and lower accountability for those released. David and Ken will also discuss the media’s mixed message on only “low-level” offenders being released. And Ken will share evidence why criminals with no accountability are more likely to commit crimes soon after their release.
