Kelly Fliear, Tournament Manager, PGA TOUR Champions Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai gives an overview of the PGA TOUR Champions event Thursday-Saturday January 18-20 at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. He talks about the field of 44 players who have earned a spot in the season opening tournament including current World Golf Hall of Fame members like Fred Couples, Hale Irwin, Tom Watson, Craig Stadler and Mark O'Meara. Fliear talks about the volunteer efforts of over 400 volunteers organized by the Rotary Club of Kona (Co-chairs Larry Webb & Kris Hazard) and monies raised for the Rotary Club of Kona Community Foundation to distribute to charities and non profit and community projects, Big Island Junior Golf and the Daniel Sayre Foundation.
Bernhard Langer defends at the 54 hole stroke play tournament which will be broadcast on NBC Golf Channel 2-5 pm each day. Tickets are available at pgatour.com/mec or at the gate. $25 daily. $45 for the 3 days. Juniors complimentary.
