He talks about the field of 38 players who have earned a spot in the season opening tournament including some Ernie Els, Fred Couples, Hale Irwin, Tom Watson, Mark O'Meara, Retif Goosen, John Daly, Scott McCarren, Jay Hass, defending champion Tom Lehman. . Fliear talks about the volunteer efforts of over 250 volunteers organized by the Rotary Club of Kona and over million dollars raised for the Rotary Club of Kona Community Foundation, Big Island Junior Golf and Daniel R. Sayre Foundation.
