On this week's show Maine and Josh recap The Road To ADCC, Recap F2W 177 and Preview Fight to Win 178.
In the news section of the show we discuss Ryan Maguire president of Third Coast grappling taking over as Matchmaker for Seth Daniels On fight to win. we also discuss some belated black belt promotions and our excitement for the upcoming kickoff to ADCC season.
In the recap section of the show we discuss the road to ADCC featuring a champion versus Champion matchup between Kaynan Duarte the +99kg champ vs Matheus Diniz the -88kg champ. We talk about the Texas Cloverleaf finish in just over 2 minutes that shocked the whole team, and how calm Kaynan looked. We discussed the 34 point victory Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa, took over William Tackett, in their rematch, plus Ana Carolina Vieira showing off her ADCC game vs Elisabeth Clay. In what's beef 2021 we talk about Mikey Musumeci vs Geo Martinez, that saw Mikey get as heated post match as we've ever seen him,we talk about his leg lock entries and back taking ability now the number one ranked grappler at every weight class below 155. We talked about the tactical performance of Nicky Ryan vs Dante Leon That saw the young Grappler injured his knee and still pull off a highly Tactical points victory over Dante. Plus we discussed Roberto Jimenez taking a dominant submission victory over Kade Ruotolo, who filled in on short notice coming off vacation. We also discuss the rules of the event and how happy we were with the matchups and the card in general we talked about how we want to see more events contested under these rules and look forward to the upcoming East Coast trials which are the first ADCC trials for the 2022 World Championships.
We also we caps fight2win 177 that featured Rafael Lovato Jr earning a decision Victory and the Masters light heavyweight title over Alexandro Ceconi. We broke down Maria Malyjasiak toe hold victory over Kendall Reusing, with a great counter toe hold, and tackled about Pedro Marinho defeating Davi Ramos via decision.
In the preview section of the show we briefly discussed fight to win 178 headlined by Xande Ribeiro vs Felipe Trovo, and Osvaldo "Queixinho" Moizinho vs Pedro Dias in the co-main event slot, plus six blades Victor Hugo vs Guilherme Augusto, in a Heavyweight matchup.
In the outro section of the show Josh discusses opening up a new restaurant and working absolutely crazy hours and Maine talks about continuing physical therapy and a surgery follow-up that allowed him to increase his activity level.
