Welcome to the Learning To Forgive Radio Series 14-Day Challenge - Days 9 & 10 on "The Keys To Self-Forgiveness." Over the last few radio shows we’ve talked a lot about forgiving others, but sometimes the most important–and hardest–person to forgive is yourself. The most important aspect of self-forgiveness is honoring yourself as a person. If you don’t address mistakes right away and choose to let them fester inside, you run the risk of entering a vicious cycle of self-loathing which can lead to depression and poor self-care habits. During this show you will learn to give yourself grace and self-compassion. You will learn a few of the many reasons you might want to work on forgiving yourself. Here are a few to think about... You didn’t do it on purpose.You’ve likely done what you can to remedy any effects.One mistake doesn’t define you.You probably learned from it (or will learn from it if you feel you haven’t yet). Scriptures: 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
