This impulse is so tempting that even political theorists who oppose states have difficulty resisting it. There are, however, coherent, cooperative models within political philosophy that reach beyond the coercive state and the restrictions of territorial-based governance. Tune in as we explore this and more with Jason Lee Byas. Jason Lee Byas is a fellow at the Center for a Stateless Society (c4ss.org). He is also a Ph.D. student in Philosophy at the University of Michigan. His academic work focuses on punishment (and its alternatives), rights theory, and justice beyond the state.
