My next guest needs no introduction… Just say, “Miss Mississippi 2022,” and the name Emmie Perkins should ring a bell or two! By using the healing power of music to make a change in the world around her, Emmie has successfully taken her “Music is Medicine” platform to new heights, with her historic win as the first Miss Mississippi to receive the competition’s Social Impact award this past December. A proud student at Mississippi State University, and a native of Hattiesburg, she is here to discuss her passion for educating children through music, growing up Mississippi and what the future holds for her as a musician, mentor, and motivator… I’d like to welcome to the show, Miss Mississippi 2022, Emmie Perkins!

Marshall Ramsey, a nationally recognized, Emmy award winning editorial cartoonist, shares his cartoons and travels the state as Mississippi Today’s Editor-At-Large. He’s also host of a "Now You're Talking" on MPB Think Radio and "Conversations" on MPB TV, and is the author of several books. Marshall is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a 2019 recipient of the University of Tennessee Alumni Professional Achievement Award.
