(1:57) They say there’s no place like home for the holidays, with all those familiar sights and sounds of the season bringing comfort and joy to parlay whatever we’ve confronted over the course of the last eleven months. We can rely on the same homes in our neighborhoods to put up dazzling light displays year after year, the same bakeries and coffee shops to send aromas of molten chocolate and sugary, buttery temptation wafting into the streets like frost dissipating into the morning mist. Bursts of serotonin sound like jingle bells and the clip-clop of horse-drawn carriages, Bing Crosby’s dulcet tones and the silence (yes, the silence) of a gentle midnight snowfall.

Here at the Magic Kingdom, coming home for the holidays might look a little different than the Christmastimes of our childhood memories. As we enter the tunnel beneath the glossy and grand Walt Disney World Railroad Station, it becomes apparent to us at once that the elves who transformed this space into a holiday wonderland spared no detail or extravagance. All around us, every lamppost and railing, window and doorway are wrapped in elegance. Evergreen garlands and velveteen bows, golden accents and glimmering lights surround a Christmas tree of mesmerizing grandeur. All at once, we are transported into a fairytale of such imagination that it calls to mind the divertissements of the great Tchaikovsky.

(3:36) Into the pines we go, to the land of the sweets, perhaps, or to the turn-of-the-century charm of Main Street, U.S.A. Either way, the caramel and cocoa wafting toward us from the nearby Confectionary inspire visions of sugar plums, and the sight of Cinderella Castle in the distance is the convergence of fantasy and reality that could only flow so seamlessly within the realms of a Disney park.

(5:17) Beneath the popcorn strands and flickering candles of the Town Square Christmas tree, there are park benches scattered about, calling to those of us who have spent much of the season in frenetic preparations and planning. Have a seat, won’t you, and listen to a symphony of classic holiday carols surround you in comfort and joy.

Imagine yourself Here, watching the Kingdom in its holiday revelry, the windows of the Emporium a panorama of warmth and cheer to reflect the faces of shoppers and diners, families and friends. It may not be the park bench in your own village park, your favorite seat on the front porch or that squashy armchair by the fire, but there is no doubt that something about this place feels like home. Maybe it’s the smiles and laughter all around us, the resilience of the human spirit shining brightly in the warm glow of Christmas lights. Maybe it’s the sights and sounds that live in our memories and play our for us Here, like a film we’ll gladly watch over and over again.

(7:03) Or maybe it’s something less tangible, less obvious. Maybe the Magic of the holidays is the very Magic that first brought this storybook Kingdom to life, and that which continues to inspire our journey and our zeal for discovering moments of joy in every corner of the world. Maybe the reason we feel at home in places so far removed from our routines because they remind us of something deeper, something intrinsic that cannot be replaced or forgotten. Here in the heart of the Magic Kingdom, we find an escape, a respite, a glimmer of hope in the midst of our circumstances…a moment of joy in the wake of our chaos.

Let’s be Here, then, in the luminescent embrace of the Christmas tree, on this quaint little park bench. Feel the Magic of the season surround you and fill you, welcoming you home for the holidays.

(9:00) Throughout our insatiable quest to find quiet moments of joy in wide and wonderful world we live in, we’ve found that Magic is especially persistent at this time of year. It twinkles and dances and glows on the faces and facades we encounter all season long, and these glimpses of enchantment are what bring the holidays to life. Wherever we are, when we stumble upon those moments - when we feel joy and peace and renewed hope in our hearts, where we hear laughter billowing like radiant song - we have found home.

So wherever this year has taken you, whether near or far from the places you know and the people you love best, you can always come home for the holidays. Even in the most unlikely places, even amongst families and children from all over the world, you can feel the cozy familiarity of a yuletide fireside.

As it turns out, we don’t need a living room out a Norman Rockwell painting, a Feast of the Seven Fishes, or even a White Christmas to experience the joy of the season. Its spirit lives within us, a lighthouse reaching into the depths of dark winter’s night, like a friend who never truly parts from our company. Always there, always waiting, always Here to bring us home for the holidays.

Experience the Magic of the season whenever your heart is longing for home. We’re always Here, waiting, a lighthouse to help you find your way to a quiet moment of stillness and lasting joy. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, one and all.
