At this point, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to refer to writer/producer Taylor Sheridan as cable and streaming TV’s answer to Dick Wolf . With Yellowstone , 1883 , and 1923 , Sheridan has built up a Western-themed franchise on par with Wolf’s Chicago franchise. Part of the reason for the franchise’s success has been the way it’s attracted top-tier talent to the small screen, like Kevin Costner , Helen Mirren , and Harrison Ford . As one of the stars of 1923 , Ford says he wishes he could figure out Sheridan’s secret formula for making those shows work. Now, he’s bringing his gift of creative misdirection to his new show, Paradise , a thriller with all kinds of unexpected turns and a wide variety of possible suspects in the show’s first major mystery.
