About Maria:
Maria Angelico is a celebrated Actress and Writer known for her portrayal of lead character Julia Bechley in international Netflix series Sisters and recently in the key role of Angie Sanford in ABC’s six-part miniseries Stateless, starring and executive produced by Cate Blanchett now also streaming globally on Netflix, as well as Miss Tan in ABC’s AACTA-nominated The InBESTigators and recently as a series lead in Iso -series Retrograde also for the ABC 2020.

Multi skilled, Maria is busy behind the lens, too. She has her own series in development with fellow actor Lucy Durack and Sisters co-creator Imogen Banks. Their musical comedy drama, Unbeweavable, has recently secured Story Development funding from Screen Australia. Maria was a director’s attachment on the 2019 NYC set of Awkwafina is Nora from Queens – mentored by writer, director and producer Lucia Aniello. She also created, wrote and starred in her own award winning web series, Movement, which screened at Tribeca Film Festival.

On stage, Maria played the lead role of Daphna in the national tour of the Australian premiere production of Bad Jews, from Ellis Productions.
