In 1971 a man who identified himself as Dan Cooper hijacked a 727 commercial airplane and held the crew hostage with a bomb for $200,000 and 4 parachutes. He jumped out somewhere over the Oregon/Washington border and was never seen or heard from again. No body was ever found, none of the money was ever spent and in 2016 the FBI closed their investigation after 45 years with no arrests.
In August 2020 new evidence for the first time in many years was uncovered that changes the way we think about this case and the FBI's conclusion.
Mike and Adriana discuss the facts of the case, as well as present the new evidence and talk about the main suspects on this episode of Totally Plausible.
