In this episode, we discuss the latest developments in the case of Adnan Syed, the subject of the popular true crime podcast "Serial." After spending over two decades behind bars for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee, Syed's conviction was recently vacated by a Baltimore City Circuit Judge, citing withheld evidence and improperly cleared suspects. However, a Maryland appellate court has now reinstated the conviction due to violations of the victim's brother's rights to attend a key hearing. We explore the legal issues surrounding the case, including the concept of double jeopardy and the proper judicial process.
