The best thing in a time of disagreement is to look for common ground in the interest of reasonable discourse...this show isn't that. Sean and Karl are right on the money though. If you don't think the opposition to Indigenous rights being practiced in Shorthills is super-racist then go listen to Drew Ackerman or something because this isn't your show. If you like to support fun, funny, informative urban Indigenous podcasters giving a modern take on what's wrong with some people who miss the point then click play now.

Emily Beth joins One Dish - One Mic to talk about one of the fastest growing problems in Niagara: death by synthetic drugs. The numbers of people overdosing and dying are hard to fathom. Emily brings her expertise as an addiction counselor and her knowledge as the author of a four part series on drugs for The Sound to the One Mic.…
We are featuring Trevor Twining - the host of the Regional - to have a conversation about the Ontario Election.
We pull back the curtain on the hit podcast "Iroquois History & Legends Podcast" and speak with Andrew Cotter. He loves history and isn't shy to acknowledge how people like Polly Cooper and Two Kettles Together are very badass. If that sounds cool to you then you'll want to check out where our podcasts converge.…

If you want to learn all about Thundering Waters Forest and don't like reading then this is the podcast for you. We unpack a lot of important ideas about ecology, development, balance and even pack in some cool historical info about Treaties and the principles of stewardship...also TREVOR HAS HIS FIRST TRAVELING THOUGHT!! The cosmic balance of the universe might be out of flux now...we saved a good one for our quarter century mark on the One Mic.…
The incomparable Jennifer Dockstader unleashes her opinions on the One Mic. Do Indigenous people have to tape record being followed by white security guards in the store to prove that racism exists? From haircuts to education the world is different through our eyes...even if most people are saying it's never racism.…

Sean and Karl record an emergency episode to share their raw emotions on the failure to provide justice for Colten Boushie. It is of paramount importance that we Niagarans get out of our comfort zones and start to learn about the harmful effects of the legacy of racism in Western society, the harm of over simplified anti-Indigenous stereotypes, how white privilege perpetuates these legacies, and what role systemic racism plays in keeping many Indigenous people marginalized. The harm to the family of Colten Boushie is real and if we don’t do anything and everything to check racism than we as a collective will continue to be complicit even if it’s not one of us pulling the trigger.…
Sean demands rights for students. Karl says that school is a take it or leave it proposition. Both agree that they are glad that the imposition of a college strike has concluded but the effect of the fallout has yet to be fully felt. Spend 30 minutes with Niagara's top Indigenous podcasters to get the scoop from two Niagara College insiders on what to make of the longest college strike in Ontario history.…

Race based law at it's finest. Where the hell did this idea come from and why is it so entrenched in Canada's laws? Sean and Karl clarify things for anti-racists, piss off racists, and annoy assimilationists in a way only they can. Want to know about the Royal Proclamation? The Gradual Civilization Act? The Indian Act? The White Paper? Lock it in here and check out this episode to get your learn on one more time. Warning: If you love Lynn Beyak then don't listen to this episode.…

Language is important, language is special, and this week you can hear how language is fun. Megan General returns to show Sean and Karl what's up with her mad skills Mohawk Rap Battling! There is a special song in the top half of this episode that you will want to hear as well. Without sharing too much info it is safe to say no tupperware containers were harmed in the taping of this week's Dish on the Mic. Mitch Baird is also in this episode where we share how to say "Sheko" in our respective Indigenous languages.…
"The question isn't do you have a gun, it's how many guns do you have?" explains Sean when describing the American pro-gun attitudes. In an era of fear is there an end to the US gun crisis? Sean and Karl with special guest Darcy Belanger share their take on guns in classic tongue-in-cheek style on the One Mic. How much does freedom cost? More and more it seems the answer may be at the end of barrel these days.…
"We were there to fail," explains Sixties Scoop survivor and special guest Darcy Belanger. The Government created policy that made it easy to take children from their homes. They called it adoption, survivors call it cultural genocide. The connection was broken and while the Children's Aid Society is apologizing and the government is laying money on the table, there isn't a sum that justifies what happened to Darcy and others like him. This Sixties Scoop episode is one of the episodes you need to hear.…
Mitch Baird joins Sean and Karl to dish on the One Mic about mascots. He patiently battled the Thorold Blackhawks and explains in detail how step by step they finally agreed to change the logo.
