With the recent release of Asghar Farhadi's latest film A Hero on Amazon Prime, pegged as a strong contender for this year's Best International Film at the Academy Awards, Carsten & Stephen take a look at a range of noteworthy films from Iranian and Iranian-American filmmakers, including the work of Farhadi, Jafar Panahi (Taxi, The White Balloon), Abbas Kiarostami (Taste of Cherry, Like Someone In Love), Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home at Night) and Sara Zandieh (A Simple Wedding). It's a rewarding journey through an impressive national cinema full of humanity and humour, with many treasures to discover.
