Bad soil? You can still have good crops. Dry conditions? Water has a memory. Learn why this is important. Tatas'juanna opens part two of our “Getting to the Root” conversation talking about his battle for water and his plans for a walk along the Colorado River from Mexico to Moab, Utah. He then speaks about indigenous farming practices including developing a relationship with your seeds, fortifying them with moon energy, and most importantly having a strong expectation of abundance. Akin to the observer effect in quantum physics, this consistent expectation of abundance yields extraordinary results. He then reveals the best fertilizer you can use. Hint: it’s not compost, manure, bonemeal, fish emulsions, etc. Discover how indigenous farming practices traveled with the ancient Pueblo people from Mesoamerica to the Arizona desert. Circle back to an exploration of root words. This conversation will likely have you thinking very differently about what it means to be a shaman or witch. Find out that words of affirmation in Tatas’juanna’s culture have the same meaning as “Namaste” or “Amen”. Explore how honouring ancestral earth connections may bear abundant fruit (and veggies). Note: Tatas’juanna mentions his death experience in this episode. In the first of this two part conversation with Hopi-Tewa holy man, Tatas’juanna, we go all over the map from how to handle difficult people knocking on your door to defying gravity in the Grand Canyon. When Tatas’juanna says the word, “Indian” my ears perk up. I ask him about his use of that word and we go from there talking about indigenousness and “getting to the root” meaning of other words. This exploration leads to redefining fear, power, and grace; offering a bright side to any situation you may be experiencing no matter how bleak, including loss, death and grief. You will be led to a practical understanding of indigenous spirituality and how it applies to everyone. You will learn about indigenous farming practices and how Tatas’uanna’s powerful relationship with water helps him grow abundant and delicious food in the desert. If you are freaked out by the crazy shifts in weather we’ve been experiencing and wondering if Armeggedon type scenarios are coming to fruition, you need to hear this. Tatas’juanna shares the female version of the Hopi prophecy and provides context for the changes we are experiencing. Ultimately, we are all being led into a journey of the heart. In this episode you will be guided through a practical exercise called, “Being Present in the Day” to assist in this journey. This conversation will leave you feeling inspired, empowered and hopeful about the future for yourself and for our world. “We are all divine beings, encased in all different forms of matter.” ~Tatas’juanna LINKS Be sure to subscribe to Explore with Lori Ference on YouTube Website Instagram Spotify Facebook…

Back from a trip to Prague, Ainé and I catch up to talk about an unexpected discovery she made regarding her Celtic (Irish) ancestors originating from the Kingdom of Bohemia, the predecessor to the Czech Republic. Traveling down memory lane, in the days before we recorded this episode, I sent her a couple of links about an exhibit I attended in 2008 at the Royal Ontario Museum on the History of Ancient Ukraine and the Cucuteni Trypillian Culture 5400-2700 BC. My working theory is that these people are the ancestors of the Celts. About 3 years ago, I started researching my family tree with a free trial month on Ancestry. That small step led to connecting with relatives I never knew existed, finding out important details about our family history I never knew and giving me a deeper insight into family dynamics and a more compassionate understanding of certain family members. For some reason, I didn't continue with paid membership until January of this year. Once I signed on and more consistently began pursuing genealogy, I decided to get my DNA tested which opened up new avenues of research and revealed more new family members, many of whom I have yet to determine exactly how we are related. This journey has been absolutely fascinating and I wanted to share my discoveries with you. I was waiting for the right moment. That moment revealed itself a couple weeks ago when I saw a Facebook post made by Aine Dee. You may remember her from EP21: Sylvia Warren and Aine Dee - Our Humanity Rising Aine's post began, " RESEARCHING MY ROOTS IS CALLING IN MY ANCESTORS ". That title, along with details she shared about discoveries she made after getting her DNA tested, really piqued my curiosity, especially when she honed in on how she felt this connection to her grandfather and his wisdom. All of a sudden he was present with her and wanting to be in conversation. She said, " He's encouraging me to change my lineage, backwards, sideways and forwards, like he never had the patience or fortitude to do - and I still don't know what that means exactly . " EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS Getting your DNA tested How migration patterns can affect your DNA results Embracing the culture of your family of origin Traveling to ancestral lands Understanding family dynamics in a deeper way "Hearing" the ancestors Intergenerational trauma How your life passions can connect to genealogy Choosing what to recover from your lineage ABOUT AINE DEE Aine Dee is the founder of Wealth Reimagined , which helps women develop and embody their own process of making intimate, informed, and conscious choices around all of their resources, including money, vitality and work. She specializes in women entrepreneurs and women with family wealth who desire to live exquisitely with just enough in alignment with their most holy values, so they can savor their present, secure their future, and share their soulful passions, gifts, skills, and resources as their unique contribution to a thriving collective. I trust when I think I'm doing something for one thing and it turns out to be for a completely different reason and I know that's the real reason. - Aine Dee GUEST LINKS Wealth Reimagined Facebook - Personal Facebook - Wealth Reimagined MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE Ancestry.com 23andMe FamilySearch.org GEDmatch EXPLORE WITH LORI FERENCE LINKS Be sure to subscribe to Explore with Lori Ference on YouTube Website Instagram Spotify Facebook…

It's such an honour and a privilege to spend time with someone in their final days or weeks or months because that's when you see the person for who they really are. ~ Jennifer Faraone In January of 2019, Jennifer came upon a traffic accident and instinctively ran to comfort a dying man named Asim. In the aftermath of his passing, she had a strong sense she needed to write a letter to his family to let them know about his final moments. The letter found its way to them through the police department. She has since forged a close relationship with Asim's family and assisted them in honouring Asim in meaningful ways. Deeply impacted by this time with Asim and his family and other supporting events, she purposefully embarked on formal education in how to help the dying and grieving, learning from world-renowned experts in the field. Mid-September, she will complete her certification as an End of Life Doula through the Institute of Traditional Medicine in Toronto EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS Jennifer's recovery from a concussion and the need to cultivate awareness about concussions in the trail running community and in general How reiki can help the dying The importance of legacy projects How to support someone who is grieving in person, at a distance and in the online space The power of vulnerability What you can do to follow up with someone who has lost a loved one ABOUT JENNIFER FARAONE Jennifer has worn many hats over the years: Occupational Therapist, Health Care Project Manager, Run Coach; Author; Reiki Practitioner; Trail Runner; Mother/Wife; and more recently, an End of Life Doula. Although these roles may be distinct from one another, they share a common thread: helping others. Her interest in End of Life care evolved following a series of deaths and events, including the deaths of several close family members, the death of a stranger, and her volunteer work in palliative care. With each of these moments, there was fear, pain, grief and suffering; but there were also moments of calmness, beauty and peace. She realized that more could be done to help and facilitate these times of transitions, and she wants to help others, including their families and loved ones, as they embrace their own mortality and face difficult decisions at the end of life. Most of us are not aware of the extent to which we are out of our bodies. We live in a culture that’s very heady. We are very cerebral about everything. We live more in the possibility rather than the reality. ~Karen Clothier Talking with wise woman and womb priestess Karen Clothier of WildQueens.com about her road of success through the "go go go" world of Silicon Valley to newsworthy online retailer to healer and teacher living a simple life in the south of France.
