Neither heaven nor paradise could give us the opposition necessary for eternal growth. That is why it was necessary for us to leave paradise and come to rocky earth. That is why it was necessary for Adam and Eve to leave the Garden of Eden. Fallen earth alone, with its opposition, could afford us freewill, freedom, agency, liberty, experience, self-reliance, wisdom, faith, knowledge, and personal choice. On earth we bear the burden of conditional law that we may develop faith, be as the Gods knowing good from evil, grow from obedience in adversity, and understand what makes God God, that when we return to heaven, we may appreciate unconditional law which frees us from the mundane and turns our hearts to the divine.
