Spurs parted with £55m for Dom Solanke, and could part with up to £10m in add-ons, in Bournemouth's most lucrative ever transfer to date, but whilst the frontman has notched six goals for Ange Postecoglou's side, Spurs fans might have been hoping his prowess would be propelling them up the league.

However Tottenham Hotspur sit just two points above Bournemouth and their form is sporadic to say the least, so, are questions being asked about his value to the North London side, or are Spurs fans realising his true worth?

We’re running out of superlatives at the moment. We’re running out of words. Every week, AFC Bournemouth fans are being surprised by what Andoni Iraola and his side are producing, but it’s now happening with such regularity that - maybe we shouldn’t be surprised after all? This weekend’s delicacy was a rampant win against high flying Nottingham Forest, and in this Second Look, Sam and Tom pour over a match which saw Cherries notch FIVE against one of the meanest defences in the league. On Saturday, Andoni's AFC Bournemouth face Nuno's Nottingham Forest in a clash which feels like it has got a lot riding on it. Many people had Forest down as relegation fodder before the season, but now, with only 16 games of the campaign to go, fans of the Tricky Trees are sauntering into work whistling the Champions League theme tune. What have Forest done? How have they done it? And WHERE could it take them? Sam and Tom are at the Queens Park to discuss their season so far. On Saturday, AFC Bournemouth fans made the LONGEST trip of the Premier League to face Newcastle at St James Park. Andoni Iraola's Cherries hammered the Magpies in a phenomenal performance which saw them score FOUR, three of them coming from Justin Kluivert - his second hattrick of the season. We know the Cherries have had some big results in their recent history, but is that the best of the lot? We think it is, given the context of having the bare bones of a squad, with kids on the bench and Daniel Jebbison being the only senior outfield player outside of the eleven. Plus, on the pitch, Cherries had no right back - with our centre-midfielder deputising, no striker - with our winger plying his trade there, and add to that, the worrying form of Newcastle - who had won nine in a row, much of it inspired by the most in form striker in world football, as well as a powerful midfield that would be the envy of many Premier League sides. And Cherries beat them. But it wasn’t a tight 1-0. We battered them. And it could have been worse for the Magpies. Sam and Tom go over the events of the day. Former AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe had a shaky start to the season, and some Magpies fans were questioning his future, but with NINE wins in a row, one foot in the Carabao Cup final, and sitting pretty in the Premier League table - it's fair to say that Tyneside is now United behind Eddie and co. With Bournemouth awaiting this weekend, they can make it ten in all competitions, and they'll fancy their chances with the current state of Andoni Iraola's squad. Bournemouth are THREADBARE, and with James Hill being the latest casualty, Cherries are in their worst injury predicament that they've ever had in the top flight, but with a siege mentality comes galvanisation - so can Boscombe perform a miracle in the North East? Sam and Tom discuss the game at the QP! Visit the Queens Park at 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. Chelsea's dramatic draw with AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday was littered with contentious issues, leaving fans from BOTH sets of fanbases flabbergasted by actions, of lack of, by referee Rob Jones. David Brooks's coming together with Marc Cucurella left Blues fans reeling, but at the other end, the build up to the late equaliser sparked a debate about a rule that NO-ONE seems to know, not least the officials. Sam and Tom discuss the game at the QP! Visit the Queens Park at 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. On Tuesday night, AFC Bournemouth face their second match in the space of seven days. Whilst on Saturday, Cherries soundly defeated West Brom in the FA Cup, next up for Andoni Iraola's men is a tough test against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. But Boscombe have an injury crisis, right? So how will this play out, and what would represent a satisfactory points tally from our next four games? Sam and Tom are the Queens Park Hotel to preview the game. Visit the QP at 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. This weekend, Cherries take on manager-less but five time winners West Brom in the 3rd round at Vitality Stadium. But Cherries are DEPLETED, and Philip Billing seems to be the latest departure (albeit on loan)... so what will Iraola do? Can the FA Cup be a welcome distraction to the relentless nature of the Premier League? Sam and Tom are at the QP to preview our cup clash! Visit the QP at 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. Bournemouth started the New Year in style on Saturday against a terrible Toffees. A number of Cherries fans were expecting the Cherries to steamroll Sean Dyche’s side, but true to form, Everton were purposeful and pragmatic. With 11 men in blue behind the ball and seemingly little drive to go and win the game, it was always going to be a scrappy affair, with something special required to win the points, but thanks to a delightful David Books volley, three points eventually came to fruition for Andoni Iraola’s men, who remain seventh in the Premier League. Sam and Tom are at the QP to discuss the weekend's game where we question Everton's immediate future. Does their current plight mirror the situation at Dean Court a couple of years ago? Fresh from a new takeover, they have a playing style that isn’t to the liking of the majority of the fanbase, and a manager that perhaps doesn’t fit the bill - is it just a case of getting through the season before an overhaul in the summer? Under Sean Dyche, Everton have a canny way of making it very difficult for Bournemouth. Whilst their league position is lowly, they have a habit of playing in a way that Andoni Iraola has often found hard to combat, so whilst form and history might tell you the Cherries should chew up and spit out the Toffees, the reality is that Saturday's match at Dean Court will be far from academic. This season, the Toffees OUTPLAYED Boscombe for 86 minutes, and even last season, they spanked us at their place with only an own goal gifting Bournemouth the points at Dean Court - so how can Iraola overcome the customary exasperation with Everton? 2024 was a record breaking season for AFC Bournemouth with last gasp goals, insane comebacks, securing our highest ever points tally, mad shirt sponsorships, the women’s team smashing it, beating United AGAIN, smashing Arsenal, surprising City, and a training ground nearly finished. Despite a draw with Fulham on the last calendar game of the year, Sam, Neil and Tom are the the QP with the last show of the year - fully under the impression that Andoni Iraola is not finished, and that 2025 could be even better. The class of 2022’s Championship Division are excelling in the Premier League this season, so, amid the constant claims that "the gap is getting wider”, forgive the fans of Nottingham Forest, Fulham and AFC Bournemouth for not taking too much notice of moans from fans of newly promoted clubs. As the Cherries travel to the Cottagers this season, Sam and Tom look forward to the fixture in West London, and talk about how the three journeys each club has been on since their return to the big time. Bournemouth face Crystal Palace on Boxing Day in a Christmas clash which sees sides from the top five and bottom five lock horns, but despite the perceived disparity between the the two teams in the Premier League table, there are a few things that suggests our festive fixture might not be as straightforward as Cherries fans want it to be.. At the weekend, Cherries became the first team to beat Man United at Old Trafford by three goals in consecutive games after another stunning 3-0 victory which propelled Andoni Iraola's side to FIFTH in the Premier League. Whilst Bournemouth fans aren't getting carried away, but passports are being renewed and the Skyscanner website is being bookmarked, with the "E" word being on the tip of the tongue for many a Cherry. Just a pipe-dream? Maybe. But whilst we are this in scintillating form, it would seem rude not to flirt with the idea, so in this Christmas pod, Sam and Tom are the the QP to go through the action from a wonderful day in the North West. The Red Devils have had over a month of new head coach Ruben Amorim, and he’s started in a very "Man Utd" way, with inconsistent showings and results he'd rather forget, but there are signs that there is something for United fans to actually be positive about... As Bournemouth travel up to Old Trafford this weekend, can Andoni Iraola make Amorim's initiation into the Premier League that little bit tougher by winning there AGAIN? Sam and Tom are at the QP for the big match preview. Visit the QP at: 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. After sixteen games, AFC Bournemouth are Europa league. Andoni Iraola's side sit in sixth in the table, two points short of Manchester City, and Cherries are in a very good place ahead of what we hope will be a very fruitful Christmas! On Monday night, we registered a draw against West Ham. We all wanted more, but on 87 minutes, it looked like we’d be getting sweet FA after VAR awarded a penalty kick to the Hammers. Alas, worry not, as our Turkish Delight Enes Unal stepped up to notch a PEARLER of a free-kick to earn us a point! Sam and Tom are the QP to discuss the game!
