Wisconsin Player with Heart: Macy Cross

Macy Cross was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her commitment and passion on and off the court and field. She loves high school sports because she enjoys playing as a team for a bigger purpose. She is grateful for all the life lessons that team sports have taught her and the bond she and her teammates form throughout the season. Macy is involved in FFA as the Co-President, National Honor Society as the Treasurer, student council, Key Club, Educators Rising, choir, peer tutoring, volleyball, track and field, and powerlifting. She is also a member of the Wisconsin Show Pig Association and Arlington Prairie 4-H Club, participates in the 4-H State Livestock Quiz Bowl, Skill-A-Thon, and is involved in meats and livestock judging. In her free time, Macy volunteers for community organizations through FFA. She helps with the food bank distribution and highway clean up and assists with various community events like the Watermelon Festival. To Macy, agriculture is part of who she is. She has learned many lessons and key skills from her involvement in agriculture, such as public speaking and compassion. After high school, Macy plans to attend a four-year university to earn a double major in elementary education and animal science. She then plans to one day teach agriculture in her elementary classroom to get kids excited about agriculture.
