Podcast Episode: Breaking Free from Agreements That Don’t Serve You
Welcome to today’s episode, where we’re going to dive into a topic that’s been weighing on my heart. These past few days have been heavy for me. I’ve had to sit with my triggers—really sit with them—and what came to the surface was a question: What am I tied to that hasn’t set me free?
That realization hit hard. I recognized that so much of what we carry—so much of what keeps us in bondage—is tied to what we’ve agreed to believe, often without question. The things we’ve internalized, the narratives we’ve accepted, especially those rooted in pain, can become strongholds. Breaking free from them? That’s no easy task.
But here’s what I want to share with you: the work of untangling those agreements is possible, and it’s necessary for your freedom and healing.
For those of you who’ve been following my journey, you know that God completely transformed my life. God revealed to me the truth of who I am and helped me see the belief patterns I was carrying—the ones that didn’t align with my authentic self. It’s been an ongoing process, but the most important part of this journey has been listening to that voice within me.
God speaks truth to our spirit and soul, and that truth became my anchor. But here’s the hard part: recognizing and letting go of the agreements I’d unconsciously made with fear, pride, and judgment.
Growing up, I was taught values like integrity, self-respect, and character—things that sound great on the surface. But when I dug deeper, I realized that much of it was rooted in fear and pride. I saw how fear and judgment were passed down, woven into the fabric of what I thought was my identity. It was heavy to confront, but necessary to release.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
• Fear can disguise itself as strength.
• Pride can look like self-respect.
• Judgment can feel like discernment.
But there’s no real freedom in those things when they’re rooted in bitterness or resentment.
For me, the hardest part was letting go of my need to hold onto those identities, even when I had the “receipts”—the reasons and justifications for why I could cling to them. Yes, people had mistreated me. Yes, I could validate my feelings of anger or judgment. But when God awakened me to a higher consciousness, I realized that holding onto those agreements was a weight I didn’t want to carry anymore.
God called me to something higher: to love, to truth, and to freedom. And love doesn’t operate out of fear or pride.
Letting go of these agreements required a decision—a decision to see with spiritual eyes, to trust God’s voice over my own understanding. It required discipline, and it’s a daily practice. But here’s the beauty: you have the power to choose.
So, I ask you today:
• What agreements have you made that no longer serve you?
• What belief systems are holding you back from experiencing freedom?
• Are you willing to sit with those questions, to wrestle with the root of them, and to release what doesn’t align with love?
It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. You have the power to let go, to let God, and to follow the truth within you.
Thank you for listening today. If this resonates with you, take some time to reflect and journal on what’s come up. And as always, I’m here to walk this journey with you. Stay connected, stay true, and choose freedom.
Until next time, be well.
