Special Host Edition Episode with Derek Qiu. My name is Derek Qiu and I’m a former educator for the non-profit City Year. I served as a first-year team leader at Isaac Newton Middle School in East Harlem where I led 6 AmeriCorps members in holistic service of 400+ students. I served in 6th grade Mathematics and Technology classrooms, amplifying the reach of teachers through one-on-one tutoring and relationship building. After leaving City Year to cut-my-teeth in consulting at Deloitte, I kept up my with the organization on the New York Partnership Team, as founder of the National Recruiting Pipeline, and member of the Associate Board. Today’s conversation will focus on non-profit, social, and political trends.
