The most expensive independent movie of all time, Valerian comes ripped off from the same comic as was Star Wars, though neither film accurately depicts the source material. Directed, written, and produced by Luc Besson (The Fifth Element, Taken 1, 2, and 3, etc.), this movie is a barrage of colors, LED lights, and plot holes, and can stand up to any U.S.-made, style-over-substance action film.
