Kit Marie and Ayesha Tandon brew up a hot drink and chat about the social factors that impact migration, culture and identity through food, early careers and diverse voices in science, climate journalism, being sporty in a sporty family, and more! Science journalist at Carbon Brief. Ayesha is the 3rd generation of woman to study physics in her family. But the first person in 3 generations not to get a PhD! Stepping away from research (with full support from my family) was a big decision for Ayesha, but definitely the right one. Her work in climate science communication is a much better fit! As well as writing, Ayesha am super lucky that I get to go to conferences, meet cool scientists, and even did some fieldwork in Thailand last year. She has also worked on improving global south representation in climate journalism.
