Derrick Todd Lee, 34, has a criminal record that includes a two-year prison term for burglary and a history of stalking and "peeping Tom" incidents. He lived in St. Francisville with his wife and two children -- a 13-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. School officials say Lee and his wife pulled their kids out of school and first fled to Chicago, then Atlanta. Police say his wife and children are safe, but in hiding. Derrick Todd Lee also known as The Baton Rouge Serial Killer, was an American serial killer who, from 1998 to 2003, terrorized the areas surrounding Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Louisiana, by committing the murders of at least seven women.

The family of Lee's wife says she lived in denial of her husband's transgressions.
