March 2, 1836: Texas Declaration of Independence - Delegates at the Convention of 1836 at Washington-on-the-Brazos formally declared Texas independent from Mexico, leading to the formation of the Republic of Texas.
Fredericksburg: Situated in the Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg is known for its German heritage, wineries, and charming Main Street lined with boutiques, galleries, and restaurants.
Barbecue: Texas barbecue is famous worldwide for its slow-smoked meats, especially brisket, ribs, sausage, and pulled pork. Central Texas-style barbecue, characterized by dry rubs and simple seasonings, is particularly renowned.
