Mathias Wikström, co-founder of Swedish impact-tech start up Doconomy, seeks to rewrite the rules of finance and ensure sustainability is at its core. In the face of climate inaction, Doconomy empowers individuals to take responsibility for their own carbon footprints and to track their own consumption in a tangible manner — through a credit card.
Hoping to transform the financial system into a tool for climate action, Doconomy has worked with MasterCard, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and the Finnish bank Ålandsbanken to promote smarter, more sustainable consumption. This way, they are revolutionizing the way individuals think about their impact and transforming consumer behaviour.
Hosted by Nizam Uddin, OBE, the Good Society Forum seeks to create a library of best practice, amplifying the voices of global change-makers and inspiring action wherever you are.
