Intelligent Transport Podcast, Episode 11, Dani Simons, Waze

Episode 13 of the Intelligent Transport Podcast hosts discussion between Luisa Wahlig from HERE Technologies, Julian Renninger from SBB and Intelligent Transport Editor Luke Antoniou.

In the 30-minute discussion, find out how intermodal travel has and still is changing, what it means to public compared to what it means to the industry, and how much progress we still need to make to get the people out of privately-owned cars.

With so much work taking place across the mobility sector to better connect and integrate services, Luisa and Julian discuss how much further we have to go and how the public sector needs to take control of the direction we’re heading in whilst becoming more flexible to match its private sector counterpart.

There’s also discussion on sustainability and how the mobility sector can achieve its goals, looking closely at the nature of privately-owned vehicles and the importance of reducing public reliance on them.

Finally, Julian and Luisa talk through what the transport network of the future looks like to them, explaining some of the steps the sector needs to take to get there, and how apps are no substitute for strong public-private partnerships.

To hear more from Luisa and Julian, catch up with the HERE webinar on demand.
