Happy leap year, Nightowls! Tonight on Midnight in Kentucky we take a look at weird news in the second month of 2020 and dig into the February ‘93 dogfight between a police helicopter and an unexplained orb of light. On the evening of the February 27th, 1993, two officers on aerial patrol over the city of Louisville, Kentucky, encountered something in the Bluegrass sky that would forever change their lives. A basketball sized UFO, circling the pair, and seemingly studying the vehicle, would easily out maneuver the chopper and eventually open fire on the two unsuspecting policemen. Confirmed by sightings from multiple officers on the ground, the incident would not only be reported by Kentucky news outlets, such as The Courier Journal, but in national supermarket tabloid Weekly World News. In the introduction to this episode we discuss the theory that mystery drone sightings in the midwest may be mass hysteria, the first fast radio bursts recently received from space with a recurring pattern, and additional details released on the DoD’s UFO investigation programs.
