Have you ever been a member of a church community, but feel like you don't really belong?

Perhaps you feel like you have no one to talk to during the morning tea or supper after the service.

Perhaps the other members are always doing social things together that don't include you.

Or perhaps you just feel like your presence there doesn't really matter, and if you didn't come to church, no one would really notice.

In this episode of the Moore College podcast in a chapel service held on Tuesday 13 August 2024, Chase Kuhn, rector of St Matthias Church in Centennial Park in Sydney and former Moore College lecturer in Christian Ethics, explores what 1 John 4 has to say about love—and therefore Christian community.

He challenges us to reconsider the foundation of what Christian community is all about, and reminds us that it's the gospel, not ourselves or our relationships with our fellow Christians, that provides us with a more secure sense of belonging.
