Derek and Riley start the show by analyzing the 2-0 lead the Florida Panthers have on the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, Sergei Bobrovsky frustrating the Oilers, and Darnell Nurse’s struggles. They discuss how much more physical the Panthers have played compared to the Oilers, they call for Corey Perry to be back in the lineup, Evan Rodrigues racking up goals, and a couple of questionable hits we’ve seen in games 1 and 2.
Flyers center Sean Couturier joined the podcast! Coots starts the show by telling us he’s currently rehabbing from offseason surgery. The boys then discuss the Flyers culture shift, the legacy of Ed Snider, and the feel of Snider’s Flyers starting to come back. They also discuss the late season Flyers collapse. Shifting gears they talk about Sean coming into the league at 18 years old in 2011-12 and how fun that season was, starting out as a shutdown defensive specialist, and playing with guys like Jaromir Jagr, Chris Pronger, Danny Briere and others. They move on to remember the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and Coots playing in Team North America. They go on to discuss Coots getting a chance to play in the first line with Giroux and Voracek in 2017, and some of his favorite teammates. Finishing up the interview they discuss Sean becoming Flyers captain this past season, being benched and healthy scratched by coach John Tortorella, the 2020 bubble and playing for Alain Vigneault, and the great player and teammate Wayne Simmonds was.
