The Gospel of Mark: Jesus Restores the Outcast - Steve Barr
Manage episode 444072792 series 1193850
How does Jesus respond to those who are broken and rejected? This week, Steve Barr continues our sermon series through the book of Mark by looking at the moment when Jesus healed a man with leprosy. Leprosy was a significant issue in Biblical times; it was a terrifying disease that resulted in complete isolation from the Jewish community. A man with leprosy comes to Jesus with faith and humility, begging for healing. Jesus does the unthinkable—He touches the man and heals him! Jesus breaks through social barriers, showing compassion for the outcast, the sick, and the broken. He is the only one with the power to restore broken people to wholeness. Jesus can restore us too. He invites us to experience the greatest miracle of all: to be born again and to enter into a relationship with Him that will change us forever.
