In 1991, the murder of Julie Snodgrass in the Philippines was the case that paved the way for the evolution of Digital Forensics.

Agents from the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center based in Maryland, USA, were the ones who helped solve the case and opened the gates for solving crimes through digital means.
