The Tech Stuff

• A proposal has been made for a specific Audio Fiction namespace, to add additional tags that are specific to fiction podcasts, with the ideal of helping specific fiction podcast apps. The level of support is currently unclear.
• You should find our site search is now more performant, and you can use the links you find there to link directly to any story in our main news section. Our not-very hidden search RSS feeds are now properly validating, too. And those random search queries that took thirty seconds to run, followed by an error? They’re fixed too. We hope. This might be why this newsletter is late today.

• How can you mix all the podcasts you’re listening to into mono? It’s a useful trick for some people, and it turns out, quite easy to achieve, in any podcast app.

• Fin vs History is a brand new podcast from the team behind viral sensation Fin vs The Internet, from comedians Fin Taylor and Horatio Gold. • From the creators of The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill comes Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, a gripping limited series exploring the Satanic Panic of the 1980s and 90s. • The award-winning Tape Letters returns with a new season today looking at Scottish-Pakistani families who communicated using cassette tapes in the mail. The show takes us back to between 1960-1980, sharing moments of joy and of heartbreak.
