God Can Redeem Your Family History [Genesis 4.5]

How do you feel about your family history? Any skeletons in the closet? Are there bad choices, addictions, or abuse back there? Is anything embarrassing or hurtful in your family's past? What do we do with that stuff? In Genesis 19:30-38, a bewildering scene unfolds as Lot and his daughters find themselves in the aftermath of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Fearing the extinction of their family line, his daughters resort to drastic measures to ensure their future, resulting in a profoundly unsettling series of events. Amid their (gross) choices, there is a profound truth: even in brokenness and confusion, God's redemptive power can illuminate the darkest corners of our family histories, offering hope and renewal instead of despair. With God, we know we don't need to be victims of our family's history because He can bring good out of even the most troubling situations.
