We've reinvented the concept of Christmas presents this year. Instead of handing out actual tangible gifts, Tanavi, Dave and Richard – aka the Robby The Robot's Waiting podcast team – have each chosen a favourite movie or TV show for the other two to watch. The only rule is that they can't have seen it before.

Following Dave's pick of Hawk The Slayer, Richard has gone for early Guillermo del Toro masterpiece The Devil's Backbone, a Spanish Civil War-set story about a haunting in an orphanage. And an unexploded bomb.

We've also invited along Den Of Geek UK editor (and horror expert) Rosie Fletcher to help us discuss a kids' adventure movie with a very dark edge. Expect chat about spooks in bubbles, men called Pig and the value of marbles made of snot…
