Growing up in poverty in Newark, New Jersey, I faced significant adversities that shaped my tenacity and determination regarding my education. Despite the challenges of navigating a resource-scarce environment and the systemic obstacles often associated with disadvantaged communities, I excelled academically, proving that hard work and perseverance can overcome even the most daunting circumstances. However strange as it may sound, the abuses and adversities I had experienced instilled in me a profound empathy for others and a passion for creating opportunities for those facing similar struggles.
