How Nature and Community Boost Social Health – A Chat with Tania Marien
Manage episode 460011587 series 3298858
Welcome to a new year of Health Raisers!
This year, we're starting with social health, exploring how contributing to our community enhances the well-being of all. For the first time, I'm bringing on a guest to address our role as stewards of the planet, and I couldn't think of a more fitting person for this essential topic than Tania Marien.
Tania and I first connected as podcasters and coaches in the Podcast Fellowship led by Seth Godin and Alex DiPalma. Tania is a reporter at heart. Speaking with people, doing research, and celebrating others' good work makes her happy. She produces a podcast where she hosts conversations with freelance environmental professionals who have taken creative approaches to science communication, nature awareness, and public outreach. She also speaks with researchers whose work informs our understanding of how people learn about the environment outside of the classroom.
Tania is currently exploring the viability of a new publication aimed at helping environmental educators and others transition into environmentally-minded roles in other sectors.
Tania has had the opportunity to contribute to many community-focused events and projects over the years. Recent projects include The Carbon Almanac and The Carbon Almanac Podcast Network and the open-access book Storytelling to Accelerate Climate Solutions. She is also the host of the Talaterra podcast.
