Cybershortwave December 1, 2002 Every so often we like to dig deep into our archives and show our newer listeners that we were promoting country music years ago even though we were operating under a different format. Here's one from 22 years ago. Some very early holiday broadcasts. This one is from 2002. It didn't take long for the "P" word to get mentioned. In the spirit of the season, we play Lynn Marie and "That's What I Like About the North". Goldie Hill sings "Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes". Ian & Sylvia, a Canadian folk and country music duo sings a song that long time listener, Pete Costello who wanted to hear some CAN-CON aka Canadian Content. Some radio bloopers are next, followed by "Father Guido Sarducci" and Santa's Lament! Next, Dave decides to go to reconciliation to confess his sins to Father Godfather - A long story for those new to the broadcast. Dave considers "converting" as Adam Sandler sings another version of The Chanukah Song. A few bloopers follow. Slim Dusty follows with A Red Back on the Toilet Seat. Next is Connie Francis - Schöner fremder Mann. More bloopers follows. Next is a tune called A Good Old Newfie Christmas. Dave mentions the Canadian produced "The Red Green Show". A few comments follow. More Bloopers. Dave compares winters between Canada and The USA (funny). Next is some Canadian comedy! Then a Polka follows by Marion Lush. How about some Country content? Garth Brooks and George Jones are up next with B double E double RUN. We round things up with some of Dave's bloopers! They were forgotten by The Country Music Industry, Country Radio, and even The Grand Ole Opry – Pioneers of Country proudly remember those artists, and the music they made popular. Special Note: Most of the E-Mail, chat room, and web sites mentioned no longer exist. Your best bet to keep in contact with Pioneers Of Country is on Pod-O-Matic or on our Facebook Page.
