Our guest for the evening is the Norwegian painter Kristine Onsrud. Many young, figurative painters can probably relate to her art school trauma, but there are probably few who have experienced that their painting got stabbed with a pair of scissors by their so-called colleagues. This is exactly what happened to Onsrud, who eventually left the London art school to get a proper education at the Florence Academy in Italy. But the "all you do is wrong"-mentality and lack of storytelling as an integrated part of the education at FAA, finally made her apply to the Nerdrum School where she has studied since. The conversation was produced by Bork S. Nerdrum, with assistance from Cassander Straumsgaard, and Sebastian Salvo. The centerpiece was a self-portrait by Kristine Onsrud. On the shelf were works she made at FAA and as a pupil of Odd Nerdrum.SHOUTOUT to our TOP SPONSORS!Dean AnthonyAnders Berge ChristensenJared FountainFergus RyanMichael IrishShaun RobertsStacey EvangelistaAlastair BlainErik LaskyJack WarnerHårek Jordal AndreassenHerman BorgePeter AsingerWould you like to get previews, bonus material and other benefits? Magnus Vanebo is an artist, studying at The National Academy of Art in Norway (better known as KhiO). He visits The Cave to talk about his personal experience with Cancel Culture.Last year, as the academy wanted to increase Social Justice training, and saw «structural racism» everywhere, Vanebo objected — in the beginning as the only one (out of more than 700 people). He wanted knowledge from his professors, not propaganda. The result was the mandatory accusations of bigotry and racism, topped with attempts to have him removed from social media. Vanebo touches on subjects such as Woke aggression, the biggest threat to «creative freedom» — regardless of what you are making. ⭐ Watch the BONUS-material where Tuv and Vanebo continued their conversation, touching on subjects such as the Trickster Archetype, "Structural Racism" as a Projection, Carpenter's They Live, and The Squander Ombudsman:▶️ https://bit.ly/3vuTDHEThe conversation was produced by Bork S. Jonas Landstad is a painter with a keen interest in the Mediterranean mystery cults. Defending timelessness is more important than ever, as gatekeepers of culture, probing your moral purity, aim for total control. The solution might just lie in the individual communion with eternal principles. According to Landstad, this is exactly what happened in the Renaissance. He is a painter concerned with how storytellers can improve by implementing the mystical perspective.✨ Watch the BONUS-material where Tuv and Landstad continued their conversation, touching on subjects such as Divine inspiration VS Mental Illness and the Death of the Museum:▶️ https://bit.ly/2QjIlHJ***The conversation was hosted by Jan-Ove Tuv and was produced by Bork S. The young architect Kristian Hoff-Andersen explains the appeal of classical architecture. Is it good because it is «traditional», or because it emulates nature and thus relates to human beings? Do we like it because it is "old-fashioned" or do we quite simply need timeless surroundings?Hoff Andersen shares amazing success stories about newly made classical buildings — drawing on examples from around the world.
