This episode brings you an exhilarating conversation with Amy Taylor Kabbaz.
Amy began her career as a dedicated ABC Journalist and Producer and was driven by her work for 15 years. She honestly believed that becoming a mother would not impact her profession...until it did.
In 2015, having brought herself to the edge of overwhelm and burnout trying to prove that she could “do it all”, she stepped away from a lifelong dream of working for the ABC to dedicate herself completely to the understanding of motherhood. Amy knew that what she had been through was something too many mothers were experiencing.
Her search path took her to the office of Doctor Aurelie Athan at Columbia University in New York and Amy finally understood the answer she'd be seeking. It came in the form of a word...this word was Matrescence.
With the help of Doctor Athan, and many other mentors, Amy has offered awareness, education and training to more than 5,000 mothers through her online programs, coaching, events and her book, Mama Rising - Discovering the New You through Motherhood.
Amy believes that when mothers understand the milestones and markers of Matrescence, they can navigate this time of their lives powerfully - without overwhelm, perfectionism and shame.
This is a thought-provoking episode for ALL mothers because just as Postpartum is Forever, so Matrescence is Forever.
