In this week's episode, I was honored to welcome our guest Shaashawn S.Dial
She helps Indigenous, Black, and Latinx (BIPOC) QTPOC/LGBTQQIAAPPDS-2+ folx who are 'the firsts' and the 'lasts' - HERstory / THEIRstory/ HIStory makers to document their stories, embrace their intersectional identities, obtain language to complement their lived experiences, and heal from trauma, discrimination, bullying, and exclusion.
Shaashawn creates brave spaces for the exchange of information through poetry to unlearn false socialization and increase awareness and understanding of justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
She is passionate about celebrating and empowering masculine-presenting womxn; pushing beyond the default images and expectations we possess about and for womxn.
She understands what it feels like to be the 'new girl, 'the first' (HERstory maker), 'the only', hoping to be accepted ... experiencing isolation, exclusion, scarcity to proudly taking up space, embracing positivity, facilitating celebration, fostering deep connection, engaging in transformative communities, and endless abundance.
Learning into the mantra of (1) 'And/both', (2) practice of 'affirmative prayer', and (3) practice of identifying your 'gift' and identifying vehicles for which to deploy your gift, she became unapologetic in all of her intersectional identities in the full expression of her humanity on a path to being a good ancestor. She celebrates the extraordinary of everyone she meets.
To help us understand how we can get the life your ancestors want us to live, Shaashawn is going to share her story and provide tips on (1) transferrable skills (2) the rule of 3+ and (3) family (Friends who are family) and (4) showing up ... you can define, design, and do the life you want and need.
