Our Sages said: “Every generation for which the Temple is not rebuilt, it is as though the Temple was destroyed for that generation."
Rebbe Nachman explained that a fast has the power to transform spiritual darkness into light. By fasting, we loosen the hold that the body has over us and allow the soul to shine more brightly.
Let's not let this fast be as any other day.
