In this episode host Belle Osvath, CFP® talks with Emily O’Halloran the Executive Director of Medicare Portal. She has helped hundreds of Medicare beneficiaries navigate the Medicare enrollment process.
Emily discloses in this interview that she is seeing a large number of her clients (even the ones who work with financial advisors) express genuine shock over the actual out-of-pocket cost of their Medicare coverage. She stresses the need for planners to identify and discuss the cost of Medicare coverage with their clients.
Emily also talks about the projected increase of Medicare costs and some changes in coverage that are important to understand when you are preparing clients for retirement.
