The NHL is at a crossroads. Head injury information is more well-known than ever, yet late and dangerous hits persist in the game. Conversely, even when a clean hit is thrown it seems a fight must take place, and sometimes a star player like Nathan MacKinnon misses time because he felt compelled to answer the bell.
