Among his other titles, Rob Mondora is an NFL Field Team Member.
That means he’s been supervising the staging equipment for Super Bowl halftime (and pre-game) shows for 16 years, all over the country. Mondora is a veteran in the sound, lights and staging business … who happens to live and work right here in Pinellas County.
He’s our guest on today’s episode of Arts Alive! because he is also the artistic supervisor for the Central Park Performing Arts Center, a jewel of a theater, owned and operated by the City of Largo.
Although the CPPAC (try saying that three times fast) is the centerpiece of the 70-acre Central Park campus (at the intersection of East Bay Drive and Seminole Boulevard), there are other aspects worth paying attention to, including the 150-seat Parkview Room, which has – as you might surmise – magnificent wall-sized window views of the leafy mid-Pinellas greenspace.
During the conversation, Mondora discusses the whys, hows and what-ifs of booking performances in the 450-seat, state-of-the-art performing arts center. There have been some unique one-nighters there, and there will be more in the upcoming new season, which Mondora teases on this podcast. #stpetecatalst #artsalive #robmondora #CPPAC #largo #pinellas #theatre #billdeyoung #tampabay #radio #radiostpete
