Romans 8:18-38

Paul shared in the first part of chapter 8, that believers in Jesus Christ have the Spirit of God within them, and His Spirit testifies to our spirit that, "we are children of God." This makes us "co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory" (8:16-17). Now in this section Paul says that the sufferings here on earth do not compare to the glory that awaits us. All creation groans and waits for the day of redemption and glorification. We have hope for that day, but while we wait patiently, we have the Spirit who helps us in our weakness. The Spirit intercedes for us with groans without words. The Spirit searches our hearts and He also knows the mind of God, which makes Him the perfect intercessor. Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." The rest of the chapter explains that for those who know God, love God, and are called by God, we are known, predestined to become like Jesus, called, justified, and glorified. God is for us, and nothing can separate us from His love. Not only does the Spirit intercede for us, but Jesus who sits at the right hand of God the Father, also intercedes for us (vs. 34). We are also more than conquerors because "NOTHING can separated us from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!"
