In this special bonus episode of The Boys in the Band Podcast we chat to Laura Jean Marsh, writer, director, and actor in new film Giddy Stratospheres, which is set in the heart of the 00s indie scene.
It's a tale of love and loss but with a backdrop of brilliant guitar music, which captures the buzz of those gigs and club nights from around 2007. The title is from a song by The Long Blondes and the storyline centres around one of their shows.
Laura tells us why she set the film in that era - and her own experiences of the scene, including gigging with her band Screaming Ballerinas, the best shows she went to, and DJ'ing and putting on club nights in London at that time.
